So, where are all the trunks at a trunk show?
In the past week I have presented my jewelry in not one but two trunk shows. ( Thank you to Deborah and Carole for your hospitality! ) This has meant countless hours of design, creation and flea market searching to have plenty of pretty things to go around. I have been so busy with the process that I have forgotten all about photographing and posting my work on facebook . Yikes!
Someone recently asked me if there were any cool vintage trunks at my trunk shows. The truth is there no trunks to be had, just a whole bunch of jewelry and me. :-)    I have no idea where the name comes from. Maybe at some point in time large trunks were used to transport goods from one far flung place to the next. The reason is a mystery to me, but I really enjoy the idea of having lovely groups of people coming to see my jewelry creations.

From the flea market to pretty

I spent 8 hours creating pretty things with my lovely pile of flea market finds . It's always so much fun to add the new treasures to the existing ones!
Recently a woman noticed a new necklace that I was wearing and asked me about it. I tokd her that I had designed it using cast away vintage jewelry. She looked skeptical and said, " How does that work and how do you figure out what goes with what ?". I told her a little bit about my process but she still could not quite see how a  single earring was something to be excited about.  I am used to this reaction,we live in such a throw away world. After a few more attempts at explaining she finally said, " Pictures. I need pictures ! ". And so today's post is a series of photos showing the before and after of a completed piece.

Flea market fun

The flea market was really great today. There was a wonderful array of vintage goodness just waiting for me to come and scoop it up.  And scoop I did!
